La Cooperativa Milonguera

By combining resources in the form of modest bi-yearly dues and positive energy, members of La Cooperativa Milonguera ensure the continuance and enhancement of a superior venue for Atlanta tango dancers, Milonga A Media Luz @ Tango Bistro.

Membership periods begin in January and July. The current dues are $45, admitting members to the six MAML's for that period. Maintaining the financial obligations of La Cooperativa together with the principles of cooperation and mutual respect imply that all members pay their dues in advance. Nonmembers pay a cover charge of $10 per milonga.

Operations are overseen by a committee consisting presently of Horacio Arcidiacono, Ron Dennis, and Sherry Quayle. Ron Dennis serves as overall manager, maintaining liaison with the facility and other organizational matters. Zouzy Bonnet is in charge of membership and manages the box office.Major decisions are referred to the membership by means of e-mail voting.

La Cooperativa came into existence in April 2004 through the personal investment of seven dancers: Suzie and Horacio Arcidiacono, Sid Gordon, Jane Ingols, Tracy Miller, Ryad Shour, and Kristin Wendland. Now in our fourth year, well over 40 dancers have joined in this collective enterprise, and La Cooperativa looks forward to continuing to serve our Atlanta Tango Community.
